The Hoover Dam Lodge property originally opened in 1958 as the Gold Strike Inn. The name was changed from Fort Lucinda to Gold Strike, to Hacienda, and then to the Hoover Dam Lodge in 2015.

In addition to the hotel and gaming, there is also a gift shop, liquor, an art display, and restaurants at the Hoover Dam Lodge.

Besides the Hoover Dam and other hotel amenities, another nice draw for the location is that the Hoover Dam Lodge Trail starts by the property.

The trail allows you to hike east to Lake Mead - Lakeview Overlook, the Hoover Dam Boneyard, and continue onto Hoover Dam.

It also connects to the west up the hill to the Pacific Trailhead in Boulder City, which is a five-mile jaunt to the west.

Another Hotel Casino Option

By law, gambling is not allowed in Boulder City, which his the closest city to Hoover Dam. There are are a variety of hotel and lodging options in Boulder City.

However, just west of Boulder City on Highway 93 business route by Interstate 11 is the Railroad Pass Hotel, Casino & Travel Center. The property is actually in the city of Henderson.

The casino property has been in the location for nearly a hundred years. The Railroad Pass Hotel & Casino has lower reviews on TripAdvisor than the Hoover Dam Lodge.
